HOL offers services to design, to quality check and to monitor seismic surveys. Our experts have extensive know-how in the seismic acquisition process and all related technologies. HOL can optimize (lower) the client’s costs by selecting the best fitting technology for all situations.

Seismic Data Evaluation & Imaging

Heinemann OiL GmbH has developed a complete workflow that combines the simultaneous use of log and seismic data to extract high resolution reservoir information using spectral decomposition. This spectral imaging workflow focuses on the well and seismic data information prior to spectral decomposition. This is in contrast to existing spectral decomposition tools that create a collection of frequency cubes where the geoscientist must guess the geologic meaning. Using the available well information and seismic data many pre-processing steps are applied prior to spectral decomposition.

Following these pre-processing steps the spectral decomposition results are obvious geologic and reservoir information. One of the key characteristics of the spectral imaging workflow is the use of new attenuation concepts that can produce attributes able to detect the presence of hydrocarbons. These attributes have been used collectively in oil and gas reservoirs, both in 2D and 3D seismic surveys and have proven their extreme efficiency in exactly pinpointing the presence of gas or oil.

HOL people specialize in deterministic and stochastic seismic inversion. Results are produced in depth with a vertical resolution typically in the range of well logs. One of the most dramatic examples of this high resolution inversion is the ability to identify and map very thin 3D sands and geobodies- that cannot be resolved by any other inversion technique.
